Every natural resource in this world has usefulness for any purposes. Vanadium is an example of mineral that is widely used in many parts of our life. We can find it at some instruments we see every day, such as steel in car axle, very sharp cutting equipment, some jet engine parts, and gears in the engine of a car and even it also used for making some parts of nuclear reactor. The main reason of its usage is its characteristic that is resistant to corrosion and capable to withstand at really high temperature. With this eminence people make many metal components from it.
The beginning of certain mineral usage must be delayed until 30 years since it was firstly discovered by Mexican scientist. The first scientist who discovered it was Andres Manuel del Rio at Mexico. He sent certain discovery to Paris which became one of scientific center at the moment. But unfortunately, the ship that brought certain mineral sample was sinking at its journey to Paris and only small sample and Andres’s letter that was achieved by scientist in Paris. Since then certain discovery did not obtain any attention until 30 years later. Afterward, scientist found its usefulness through researches.
Currently, vanadium deposit, as other mineral resources, becomes slender as many companies mine this mineral due to big demand of it. However, people still find out the best way to make certain mineral usage to be more efficient. They also still find its substitute that has same characteristic and usefulness.
